At the invitation of the Managing Director of Medical Valley Forchheim GmbH, Viktor Naumann, the CSU Forchheim Seniors' Union working group visited the Medical Valley Centre Forchheim for a presentation on the development and objectives of the Medical Valley Centre. Among the numerous guests from Forchheim were members of the Women's Union and CSU town councillors.
Mr Naumann opened his presentation with a look back at the founding of the Medical Valley Center in 2013, when the then Lord Mayor Franz Stumpf emphasised the enormous potential of medical technology for the economic development of the city of Forchheim. With the Bavarian state government's funding of 10 million euros for the construction of the Medical Valley Centre Forchheim, he saw the "rise of Forchheim as a business location into the premier league." This vision has materialised: The town of Forchheim has developed into a high-tech medical technology region in Bavaria; with over 6,000 employees in the local industry, Forchheim is the largest Bavarian medical technology production centre.
Mr Naumann proudly emphasised that the Medical Valley Center had contributed significantly to this success story. The centre offers innovative companies along the value chain of medical technology and the healthcare industry optimal development opportunities. One example is Neuromod Deutschland GmbH, which has developed a new treatment method for tinnitus that has already been approved in the USA.
The transdisciplinary cooperation in Medical Valley, for example with the scientific organisations Fraunhofer Institute, INAM e.V. and local medical technology companies - such as Siemens Healthineers AG - and the public sector, has been particularly successful. The Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs supports scientific developments and research in the region with funding, thereby helping to strengthen the Medical Valley cluster. The ambitious goals of the Medical Valley Center Forchheim include the further establishment of MedTech companies and suppliers as well as the creation of a research centre, as Viktor Naumann explained.
On behalf of those present, Klaus Rapp, local chairman of the CSU Forchheim Seniors' Union, thanked Mr Naumann with a small gift for the impressive presentation and wished the Medical Valley Centre continued successful development.
