On the occasion of the visit by Economics Minister Aiwanger and Environment Minister Glauber, Gerhard Bauer, Mayor of the municipality of Hallerndorf, and Christoph Thiel, Managing Director of LinaThera GmbH, announced good news: "We have reached a major milestone and are delighted to have been welcomed to Hallerndorf and the Medical Valley in the district of Forchheim," emphasised Christoph Thiel.
During the visit by the two state ministers, Gerhard Bauer announced: "LinaThera is setting up on 1.2 hectares in our new Regnitzwehr Schlammersdorf industrial estate and Hallerndorf will become part of Medical Valley!". The municipality and the company quickly came to an agreement after Viktor Naumann, Managing Director of the Medical Valley Centre Forchheim, announced it at the end of 2023. "In the district of Forchheim, companies and communities benefit from an active network," emphasises Viktor Naumann, adding, "Medical Valley is home to global medical device manufacturers as well as local innovators."
With the site in Hallerndorf secured, planning for the LinaThera GmbH production facility is progressing. The facility will be used to produce medical radionuclides for cancer therapy. Targeted radionuclide therapy is an important new component in the treatment of a number of serious cancers and has the potential to offer a large number of patients better diagnosis and treatment.
In addition to Medical Valley Forchheim, LinaThera is cooperating with the radiopharmaceutical developer Nuclidium AG and the University Hospital Erlangen to expand radionuclide therapy in the region and make it accessible to patients on a large scale. The partners have jointly
