Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger and Minister of the Environment Thorsten Glauber recently visited the Medical Valley Centre in Forchheim to gain an impression of current developments in the region. The ministers had already visited the centre in February of this year to find out more about the Medical Valley ecosystem.
Numerous companies and start-ups are developing innovative products in the Medical Valley Centre, particularly in the field of medical technology. Viktor Naumann, Economic Development Manager of the city of Forchheim and Managing Director of the Medical Valley Centre Forchheim, explained that the goal goes far beyond medical technology, as a good energy supply is just as essential for sustainable growth as new impetus from innovative ideas.
The guests, including representatives from business and politics, presented their innovative projects to Aiwanger and Glauber. Companies such as Siemens Energy AG, Anlagenbau Neundörfer, IBL Löttechnik and Lina Thera presented their current developments. Lina Thera, which aims to revolutionise cancer therapy from Hallerndorf in the future, stood out in particular: "Targeted radionuclide therapy is an important new building block in the treatment of a number of serious cancers and has the potential to offer a large number of patients better diagnosis and treatment," said Christoph Thiel, Managing Director of LinaThera.
During his visit, Aiwanger emphasised the state government's support for the regional economy and praised the impressive progress made by companies in Franconian Switzerland. He particularly emphasised the innovative strength and potential of the family-run SMEs and the importance of medical technology as a technology of the future.
The renewed visit by Aiwanger and Glauber underlines the importance of the Medical Valley Centre as an innovation hub. The establishment of Lina Thera in Hallerndorf strengthens the entire Medical Valley ecosystem and demonstrates the state government's commitment to the region.
